Iphone back light won't turn off?

So my iphone got wet with the rain, left it in a bag of rice for 2 days. Everything works exept for the light, it stays on even when i turn off my phone. I've reset it and everything but it won't turn off. Also my dad found the phone so i don't have warranty or anything so if i take it to apple am i going to have to pay for a whole new phone if it comes to that?

Try having the phone looked at a service center. Most likely you'll have to change the whole screen. However you should also look into buying a new phone since your dad found the phone anyway. You can try selling it at eCycleBest.com. They purchase second hand iPhones. Maybe you can get the iPhone 5C after that.
