Iphone broken or not?

I think some water got into my iphone from the rain today. It was fine when I took it inside and used it to text and all. But then I charged it. And about 5 minutes after charging it, these white lines started to appear on the phone and every second the phone got whiter and whiter (still able to see everything on the screen, but with more and more tint of white). So i turned it off and put it in a bowl of rice, oats, and a beef jerky gel pouch thing. I checked the SIM card slot for that "Water damage indicator" I don't know if i saw it or not, but i didn't see anything pink or red, so I think that means no water damage. What's wrong?

If it started doing this right after you got it wet, of course it has water damage.

The damage is already done - the fact that power was applied to the phone while the circuit board was wet destroyed it.

When a Device gets wet, you should never press any buttons or turn it on/off, it leads to more damage that might not have been done, take sim and battery out and leave phone and battery on a radiator, under a small lamp shade or somewhere where it is warm like a hot press for as long as possible, keep checking after every few hours, it will come right eventually, water doesn't damage a sim so if you have a spare phone you can put your sim in it while you wait
