For a few days my iPhone won't even charge or turn on in that matter but now my screen is showing that
Does it mean it's charging? 
No, that means it needs charging. The cable icon will disappear when it starts to charge, there could be a problem with the cable you're using to charge with or the actually connector on the phone is damaged
Well its not showing the lightning bolt so no its not charging
The battery is either in need of a charge or very low that it would take a while to start charging. If it has been like that for days, I would contact Apple about it.
