Iphone deleting sent iMessages in a conversation but not normal texts?
I started texting someone yesterday and at first we were using normal texts, but then realised we both had iPhones and used iMessage. I texted them this afternoon but didn't look at the previous messages. They didn't reply which I thought was strange and so I went onto the messages to see etc and while doing so I realised all the iMessages weren't they but the normal ones were so I don't know whether they've replied? Does anyone know what this happened?
It's probably in a separate conversation (like a different thread) because you probably sent the iMessage to their Apple ID (email address) instead of their phone number. If you want to have iMessages and Text Messages in the same thread then make sure you send iMessages with your number to their number.
You can also try
Settings < Messages < Send as SMS < OFF
- Will iMessages sent on an iPhone using Wi-Fi show up on the phone bill? I use an iPhone and text other iPhones, iPods, and iPads on Wi-Fi using iMessage. Will these show up on the phone bill? Or are they separate, since they are sent on Wi-Fi? And when I don't send them on Wi-Fi, would those use up data/show up on the bill?
- Why is my Iphone not sending as Imessages and receiving iMessages from one person? I'm texting my wife and we both have iPhone's and she is getting the messages as an iMessage but the ones I'm sending her on my end show up at green. Sometime it will go as blue, get the little red exclamation point then send as regular SMS. I'm texting someone else too and she has an iPhone, and she is getting mine as regular iMessages and mine are sending as regular iMessages. Why aren't they sending to me wife as iMessages?
- Why does my iPhone sometimes send texts to other iPhones as iMessages then regular texts to iPhones? Like when I send a text to my friend that has an iphone, it usually sends as an iMessage then it will randomly send as just a regular text and it will be green and not blue.
- Newest iPhone update automatically saves pictures sent in iMessages to camera roll. How do I make this stop? I installed the newest iPhone update the other day and I noticed a bunch of pictures that I took in the messages app and sent via iMessage were saved to my camera roll. This just junks up the pictures I want to save and I have to delete them every time. Is there a way to turn off this auto save?
