IPhone fell in water! Saying activation required?

My iPhone fell in a sink full of water. For the last 5 days I've been drying it out in a bowl full of rice in the airing cupboard. Yesterday I plugged it into the charger, the Apple logo appeared and then my lock screen but it displayed the message 'activation required'. When I start following the steps on the iPhone it tells me to plug it into iTunes but when I disconnect it from the charger the screen goes completely black again. I left it plugged into iTunes for 30 minutes but it still wasn't recognised. I also tried holding down the power button and the home button for 15 seconds but that didn't do anything either.
Has anyone had this happen to them?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Youtube will sort you out, hard to explain! Type in: how to get rid of the activation screen on iPhone

Didn't face this problem and don't even wants to face.

To exit from this evil take google help and online iPhone activation videos.

This is why I don't like iPhones.

Not sure if you can claim warranty…

At Apple's website, they show you where the water damage alert is on your phone. This is the page with the table showing you where to find it on Apple's website:
http://support.apple.com/.../kb/ht3302

The way to fix water damage is this way:

Step 1) Do not press any buttons after the damage has been done. Attempting to press any buttons may shift the moisture inside the unit caused by the water damage, which can result in it pooling under the buttons. This will render the iPhone inoperable.

Step 2) Lay the iPhone on a flat surface under a bright light. This will moisture near the iPhone's surface to evaporate through the tiny cracks in the iPhone's shell. The amount of time you need to leave the iPhone under the light will vary depending on how wet it is. Light to moderate damage should only need one to two hours of light, but more severe water damage will need up to five hours.

Step 3) Plug it in to a computer. If you see a "do not disconnect" symbol, then your iPhone has survived the water damage. If not, then you will need to replace it.

P.S. Do not trust DigiExpress to fix your iPhone! There have terrible reviews!

  • Why does my iphone randomly say activation required? So the other day I was just using my iPhone 4 running IOS 6 beta and I had shut down my iPhone completely for about 2 hours and then when i turned it back on, it said "activation required and it wants me to connect to Wi-Fi to connect to apples activation servers. It will not let me get to my home screen and everytime I try to activate it it tells me to try again later. BTW, it also says no service at the top of my iPhone. And this has also happened to my iPad.
  • Why does my iPhone 5s iOS 7.1.1 keep saying waiting for activation? I've been doing everything for it to work and nothing is happening. I'm starting to get irritated and I went to Apple.com and there are other people complaining about imessage and face time. I need some help As soon as possible!
  • What to do if your iPhone fell in water? I tried the blow dryer approach and now I submerged my phone in a container filled with rice. Is there anything else I can try at this point?
  • What do i do, my iphone fell in water I was brushing my teeth while listening to music from my iphone and it fell in the sink and was completely submerged in water for about a few seconds but i got it out quickly. I turned it off right away and put it in a bowl of wild rice (obvously not cooked) because thats what it said online. Did i do the right thing? Does anyone have any better methods? If the rice is the right idea, how long do i leave my phone in it?
