Iphone IMEI sim lock: Unlocked?

I bought a used iphone 4 off ebay. Now the seller said it is permanently unlocked. I use tmobile with the phone, So I know that it is unlocked. I used a few websites and checked the IMEI and after i checked my IMEI on a few sites, they all said it was Unlocked. My phone has a software update. So if I update my software from 6.1.2 to 6.1.3 will my phone relock?

I'm new to apple products and I just would like some answers, I don't want to relock my phone and make it un-usable for tmobile.

Please help? I've tried to contact the seller but they aren't answering.

I want to know the difference between these term - blacklisted, bad imei and activation lock and for a iphone should i buy any phone that is blacklisted, bad imei or activation lock is it possible to bypass it… In the past i have bypass sim activation so is this possible as well?
  • What does it mean when your IMEI is unlocked on iphone 4s? My dad found an iphone 4s and it was disconnected (no service).so he restarted it with itunes.today we checked the IMEI # online. It said it was unblocked. What does this mean? Btw it is from at&t But does this mean that i can go to like tmobile or something and connect it there? Or do i still have to get it factory unlocked? Tmobile costs too much for a monthly pay. Are there any other ones that will connect an at&t phone with about 50 dollars / month
  • Iphone lock button broken, is there any alternative to lock iphone? My iphone 3G lock button is totally damaged and is out of warranty and I can't afford to get it repaired. I was wondering is there any app which can convert "silent" button to lock button. Or may be an app on which i can manually lock the device. By the way my Iphone is jailbroken, and "accessibility" is not accessible.
  • If I put a SIM card into an unlocked iPhone will it lock it to that phone? I recently received an unlocked iPhone 5s as a replacement from LifeProof. The point is, it says ATT unlocked. It says SIM required when I turn on the phone. I have a sim card but it's from my current service which I'm going to cancel so I don't know if there's a way to bypass the sim required. Or if I use my current sim card will I no longer be able to use another one?
