Iphone/iMessage problem? - 1

I have an iPhone and I have been texting two people that also have an iPhone, but when they get a text from me, instead of my name showing my email address shows up! Is there something on my phone I need to change or is it on there phone they need to change?

You must have registered with that email address and your friends just haven't added that address to their contacts. No worries.

This happened to me and I needed to get a replacement sim but.
Go into settings > messages > receive at > caller ID > chose your number

When you go to receive at make sure it says phone and your number because if it says verifying you MAY need a replacement sim!

Also try turning off iMessage and turn it back on

AND if none of this works.
Quit all your apps, take out the sim (while the phone is still on), turn it off, put back in the sim & press home and lock button together until the apple sign appears twice!

  • What to do to fix this problem with my iPhone and iMessage? So everytime I scroll through my attachments and pictures with people on iMessage it just scrolls right back up to the first picture. It won't let me scroll through at all without going back up. Is there something I can do to fix this?
  • Jailbroken iPhone 4 iMessage problem When I jailbroke my iphone (it was on 6.1.2 I'm pretty for sure) I could see imessage attachments just fine. Now I can see them just in the little box before you click to view but when I click to see it, it's just a white screen with the format. I really don't know how to fix it? Any help? Oh btw I don't have any jailbroken messaging apps.

At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
