Iphone importing of contacts problem

I have a Apple Iphone 4 which used to be my older brother's. When I imported my contacts from my sim card, after resetting the phone, it also imported my brother's contacts as well even though I'm using my sim card and he has his. I would like to only import my contacts and I'm finding this rather annoying.

It seems that your contacts are synced with your iCloud account. I would suggest to turn-off contacts sync from your iPhone 4. Here is what you need to do is:

Open Settings -> Scroll down and tap on iCloud -> and make sure that 'Contacts' is switched OFF

Then scroll down and tap on Storage & Backup and turn-off iCloud Backup.
