Iphone in sea water?
I accidentally swam with my iphone 4s in sea water since 1 month. I put it in rice bag for 2 days but it didn't help.
Is there any hope or fixing method?
I didn't backup my phone to icloud before damage, Can I restore the lost data?
Yes.
Nope. You're S.O.L.
Sea water is both corrosive and conductive, and it gets worse when you add electricity - there's probably nothing you can do. Drying it probably won't help as you'll just end up coating everything with a thin layer of salts. I'd start by boiling some distilled water for a few minutes to get rid of the dissolved oxygen, allowing it to cool and then immersing the Iphone in it for a few hours. After that you can try drying it out in rice - it's probably not going to work, but you can't make things any worse!
All the rice in the world isn't going to undo a swim in the ocean… Not that rice can magically dry out your phone to begin with.
So the old phone is dead.
If you backed up your data, then when you get your new phone and log into your Apple account you can restore your data to your new phone. The folks at the Apple store can help you do that.
I think the important question is, why do you still have a 4s?
Check your iCloud.com account to see what you did manage to sync. Your contacts, calendar and photos should still be there, and you can re-download purchased music and apps to the new phone.
You could try checking a repair shop & hope for the best but the iPhone 4s was not rated for that sort of thing.
It will make a stylish paperweight.
- My iPhone has water in it how can I get the water out? I got a little bit of water in it at my pool and it shutoff within a minute or so, it won't turn back on and I have had it in rice for over 10 hours.
- My Iphone 4 fell in the sea? So, my Iphone 4 fell in the sea and was in it for like 5-10 minutes until i noticed that, are there any chances of it being fixed? :/
- Is sea water supposed to hurt an iphone 5S? I was trying to take a pic of me and my friend underwater in the ocean and the screen did weird things, then went black. Does the salt in the water hurt it and will it work again after it dries out? If i use a hairdryer can that do the trick
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
