IPhone lightning headphones issue?

I recently bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones. They're no wireless. But they connect through Bluetooth and won't play otherwise. The issue is, they work fine at home but the minute I go outside and off my front doorstep. They start to beep really loudly and then the volume goes all the way down but the music doesn't Stop playing. If I turn the music back up it goes straight back down. I don't understand the issue. Other headphones don't do this. Is it a settings problem?

I'm confused.

Bluetooth is a (formerly) wireless standard IEEE 802.15 connection method.

For headphones, there are two "types" of Blue Tooth headphones. Earbuds and everything else.

Neither type connects to a port on a phone using a wire. They connect using Bluetooth (wireless).

Bluetooth is a "personal area network" technology. The typical range between the "user device" (in this case, earphones) and the source (in this case, your iPhone) is about 20 feet - assuming there are no obstructions (walls, doors, windows, etc.) between the two devices.

It is possible that when the signal starts getting weak (because the devices are too far apart, obstacles are blocking the signal), the earphones can make noise to remind you that you are at the edge of the signal range. This is to remind you to get back to the audio source device. If this is the case, then carry the iPhone in your pocket and don't leave it inside your house.

If something else is going on, we don't know… So please provide the manufacturer name and model of the headset you are using… At the moment, using "wired Bluetooth" makes no sense to me.

Stay close to Wi-Fi… Duh

  • My normal headphones won't work after using Bluetooth headphones? (iPhone 7)? I've been using AirPods for a couple months now and the battery is getting pretty bad so I decided to get some plug-in Apple headphones but those don't work. When I plug them in I get a "not supported" notification. I've also tried friends headphones that worked fine on there phone, so I know it's not just faulty wires.
  • My iPhone 5 says it's plugged in but it doesn't show the lightning bolt? When I plug in my iPhone to charge it shows the little plug intending that it is plugged in but it doesn't show the lightning bolt like it's supposed to when charging. • Is a non-apple lightning charger bad for an iPhone 5? My roommate bought me a non-apple lightning plug and I was wondering how that could affect it. It is slightly larger than the original, but only people that know apple products well would be able to see the difference. Because of this you have to push the plug in, and then pull the plug hard. It gets almost stuck. Is this going to be bad to use for my phone? I've only had it for less than two months.
