IPhone lock button is unresponsive? - 1

My iPhone 4 had a faulty lock button (it was stiff, I had to press it hard to lock it and power on/off) and because it was out of warranty, I decided that I would replace the lock button myself. I bought all the necessary components, took the iPhone apart, took out the old lock button and the tape for it, then replaced it with my brand new one.

The new lock button feels perfect, it clicks and feels brand new. But there's only one problem, it doesn't actually respond when you press it, the screen won't lock and I can't turn off.

I tried restoring the device to see if that would fix the problem, but to no avail.

I've enabled Assistive Touch, but I would prefer it a lot more if the button simply WORKED, do you think I need to buy ANOTHER lock button sensor tape or is the problem something else?

That actually happened too a lot of iPhones when they first came out
There's nothing you can really do but go to Apple and get it replaced for free

This is a known problem with the iPhone 4's and 4S's, I think that you might have been able to take it to the Apple store and they would have fixed it because its a know failure, but now that you have tampered with the phone they probably won't do anything for you but you could still try. I do not think that getting a new lock button will fix the problem, its probably your phone itself that is broken. The only way for you to fix it is probably to just get a new phone, but you will likely have to pay for it. It doesn't hurt to go to the Apple store and just ask them to see what they would say about it.
