Iphone not showing any Wi-Fi networks?

I just bought a iPhone 3GS with iOS 6.1.3, when it came it is reset and I have to set it up, but it will not show any Wi-Fi networks, the I have tried resetting network settings and everything but nothing works! Now I'm starting to think that there's some hardware problem. Please advice.

Added (1). I'm just asking for a solution, not people's opinion on how smart or dumb I'm, people are not dumb for buying cool gadgets and iPhones, obviously, there are positive things about it, otherwise there would be no apple or android.

1. On your iPhone, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi
2. Select the network you wish to connect with and clicked "Forget this Network" to start from scratch
3. Navigate back to the main Wi-Fi menu
4. Select "Other… " to manually enter in my network name and password information
5. After manually entering the network name and password information, WEP or WPA keys you may be able to successfully connect.
6. You might need to restart your router to renew your iPhone IP address. I usually start by turning off everything, turn on your cable or DSL modem first, turn on your wireless router next. Wait until all the lights quit blinking and settle down then retry your iPhone to see if it is now connected.

  • Will any Ireland Mobile Networks support L. T. E (4G) or iPhone 5? The question pretty much says it all. Does anyone know if any Irish networks (I know Vodafone and O2 are not) supporting LTE:4G data? Specifically for the iPhone 5. Leave the fanboy troll comments at the door, a simple yes/no specifics are what I'm after.
  • Why is my Facebook not showing any news feed? (iPhone 4s)? I logged out and logged back in again, it didn't work. I've deleted the app and re-installed it again, it didn't work. I also turned my phone on and off, that didn't work either. Can someone please help me.
