IPhone receiving other people's texts

So, my family and I all have iPhones. And lately, when I send or receive a text message, my whole family gets the message that I sent, AND the message the person replies with. I even have my iMessages turned off! Yes, we all share the same iTunes account. But we kinda have to (I think) since the phones were all initially setup onto the same account by Verizon.

But that's not all. Here's the kicker: tonight, I even got a text conversation from my friend and his friend; and they're NOT on our account. For example, my friend sent "I'm sorry." And I got that as if he were texting it to me. Then I got another text from a number I don't know saying "for what?"

So, I honestly don't know what to do or what's going on. I can't find a straight- forward answer on the Internet. If someone could help, that'd be amazing!

I HAVE heard that you can just set up each phone on a different iTunes account. But I don't know if that will work since I'm getting texts from people who aren't on my account.

A couple things 1) just because your all on the same Verizon account does not mean you have to all be on the same iTunes account.iTunes has nothing to do with the cellphone company. 2) This does not sound like a iPhone or iTunes problem. I would call Verizon and tell them what the problem is. If they can't fix it then take it to an apple store. Hope this helped.
