IPhone update wiped everything.how Do I get it back?

For the past month I have been taking photos of every stage of my A level Graphics coursework for making a model, storing them on my iPhone 4. I thought today how screwed I would be if I lost them so decided to plug my iphone into my mac.iTunes then popped up saying there was a software update from iOS6 to iOs6.01. I clicked download and update at the same time as importing the 130 photos from my iphone into iphoto. Minutes later my phone had turned off and all the photos that were importing had vanished, and the iPhone started to update. Not concerned at this point I let it update. However, when the updte was nearing completion, it stopped and said it couldn't be updated.itunes said I had to restore the iPhone before it could do anything, so I did, as I wouldn't be able to use the phone without OS software. After the update finally worked, everything was gone, I selected the back up from iTunes option on the phone, thinking iTunes would have backed up the phone before updating, but only what was already on my mac restored. I desperately need these pictures back, anyone know any way of how to get them?

Your phone should automatically back itself up to iTunes whenever you sync. You should be able to restore your iPhone from one of these previous back-ups. You would do it the same way you would as if you were upgrading your iPhone from say a 4S to a 5, or whenever you have to replace any iPhone for any reason.

Not to be rude, but you lost it… You always import everything to your computer or a SD card then update! Sorry./!

When the update process begins iTunes backs up everything first it's the first step in the 7 steps of the sync service. Restore and it will bring up back ups that iTunes saved

You can't get it back. Sorry.

  • When you erase an iphone of all of its content & settings, does this mean EVERYTHING is wiped? I wiped my old iphone because i got the new 6s. So my icloud is in use on my current phone, but i wanted to know, that since i wiped out my old on. Does that mean it would be safe to give it to a family member or close friend to use? Without having my personal info. On it?

  • If i restore my iphone via ITunes, everything will be put back on it from back up? I want to restore my iphone due to some problems i'm having but i wanna make sure i won't be losing anything. I backed it up to itunes, so where do i go from here? Do i do a factory reset and when its done, will it give me the option to use backup to put everything on my phone?
