Iphone water damage black screen?

Dropped my phone in some water the other night and after a few days of rice/hair drier action i decided to give it a go. I hooked my phone up to a charger and received the vibration confirming that the phone was charging. The sound and touchscreen/siri seem to be working just fine but the screen remains black. After a bit of tinkering i was able to get the screen to work perfectly for about 5 minutes, after which i have not been able to work the screen at all. Everything else works fine but the screen, I'm wondering if this is some dire issue with the phone, or if there's some simple solution.

At this point, you have managed to save the phone (the crowd cheers!). However you are left with a problem that will likely require the phone to come apart. Now it's very possible the screen is still good mind you - but the digitizer (the actual touch screen) would need to come off and let the phone dry further. That is tricky and you may or may not want to tackle that yourself.

Look at the bright side, even if you need a repair - you've saved the phone.

Honestly, this has happened to me before. You might think I'm crazy; but put your iPhone under a bright light for about 15 seconds. Most likely, the phone was on auto-brightness and the screen went black. Putting it under the light will activate the auto-brightness to turn the brightness up. If this does not work, the issue is most likely an internal problem.
Hope this helped!

  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
  • Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
  • IPhone screen very dim after water damage? And a temperature warning? I dropped my iPhone 4 in water about 2 days ago, and I tried turning it on today. It seems to turn on, but the screen is very very dim. Like, you can just barely make out the display when the device is held on an angle. From what I made out, there's a temperature warning on the screen. Also, the flash is slightly lit up? Is there anything I can do, or is this a lost cause?
  • Iphone has white screen black apple logo frozen it occasionally goes black then that screen shows up again screen went red once? I held the home and power buttons and it showed me that the battery was super low with the little red lines hasn't shown me that since now it's just frozen on black apple logo with white background and the screen flickers occasionally i've had it plugged into the wall charging for 2 hours now and still nothing should I go get it looked at by apple or do I just leave it charging longer?
