Iphone won't connect to macbook?

Added (1). Yes I've tried turning them both on and back off, no its not the usb cable (charges fine on the wall charger).
The phone connects on and off with the computer but is never connected long enough for me to sync my phone/back it up so i can restore it or to update the software.

No, we know the type of iPhone, type of MacBook, age of MacBook, version of iOS, version of Mac OS…
So I guess the next thing is restore from backup… Unless maybe you forgot that the USB cable provides 5 volt power as well as a data path. The cable could be faulty for data path and perfectly fine for 5 volt charging.

As for not having any backup, how the heck do you have a phone two weeks or longer and totally skipped the option to make a backup? Mine did it automatically.

Then again, you could be shouting "No, no, no!" to everything I suggest. For that, call Apple 1-800-myapple. After all, it is a new phone.

  • IPhone won't connect charge or connect to iTunes? Well… I'm no amateur when it comes to iPhones but this problem really has me stumped. I bought this phone and replaced the screen, the person i bought it off of couldnt remember the passcode so its disabled. I've tried putting it in dfu mode, recovery mode, etc. Still nothing. If i turn it off and leave it plugged in itll charge. I also put in a new charging port because i thought that was the problem. So i can't do anything with this phone… Any ideas?
