I bought my 7/8 year old niece and iPhone X and my fiancé is fuming. She says that's ridiculous and I should take it back. We both make good money and don't have joint accounts yet.

I honestly believe that It's ridiculous to give kids phones, especially a phone that expensive and good quality. Kids nowadays spend their time on social media and on the internet than having fun and socializing. I agree with your fiancé and believe it was not a good idea to give your niece an iPhone X.
