Is 8th Grade Math Hard And What Do You Learn?

I Really Suck At Math Numbers Really Confuse Me I Always Get C's or D's On My Math Test. My Parents Said If I Do Good They Would Get Me The New IPhone. Before School Starts I Wanna Know What Stuff You Learn In 8th Grade So I Can Start Studying Now! I Got Tutors Before But They All Confused Me More Please Help Me!

I took algebra.

at the time, it seemed hard but now, it is a joke to me.

just practice and don't satisfy yourself with a C,
it is the only thing i recommend.

When i was in 8th grade we learned pre algebra. I don't know how it is now it might be algebra 1 now their teaching

You learn basic algebra and a little of geometry. I would suggest you start practicing your multiplication and your division and be prepared to learn some math language. I had a D which is so bad cause I only sometimes study. You really have to study for algebra because it's the main thing for college. ---"

The math class that you take in 8th grade depends on your skill level in math. In my school district, an 8th grader could take Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, or even Algebra 2. Here are some descriptions for the classes:

Pre-Algebra: You review what you learned in previous grades (about integers, fractions, etc.) and start learning how to solve algebra problems, simplify expressions, and use algebra for word problems.

Algebra 1: You start learning how to solve harder equations and how to simplify harder expressions. You also learn more about functions and new types of equations.

Geometry: You're introduced to theories, axioms, and proofs. More importantly, you learn about shapes and sometimes about trigonometry.

Algebra 2: You review Algebra 1 concepts and start solving more complex problems.

As you can see, the levels of difficulty depend on your math class. Most 8th graders go into Algebra 1, and from what I remember, Algebra 1 was pretty easy. It can get a little confusing having to memorize the forms of an equation and the quadratic formula, but it'll get easy once you get the hang of it. Hope this helps!

Math builds with each level. The stuff you learned in past years is added to with each new subject. It's not like history were you can skip around and go anywhere you want so long as you can read and comprehend. Math is a sequence of concepts that does not allow much jumping around.

What you really need to know most is the basics… Get flash cards for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and practice… Get really good and really fast at the basic arithmetic facts. Do the same with fractions and decimals… Getting really good at this kind of stuff will give you more time to figure out the new concepts.e. G. If you are learning how to get the equation of a line, you'll find that it's a great deal easier to do if you don't have to give a lot of thought to the arithmetic necessary to get it. The quicker you are with the arithmetic, the more time you'll have left to figure out what you need to do.

Also, do what you can to get good at doing the things you studied in 7th grade. If you can, get a 7th grade math book from school and go on line to get help as needed… For example, you have YA Answers and there are a lot of math video tutorials on You Tube and elsewhere. The idea is to get good at 7th grade math so that you will be ready for 8th grade math… Don't worry about working ahead. Work on getting caught up.

Go get'em!
