Is a camera, iPhone, or mirror mor reliable for how you look?

I really love how I look in the mirror, and on the app, snap chat, because it is a mirrored image. But when I see myself on my iPhone camera… Or on even a proper camera (some high tech canon one) I look disgusting and wrinkly, and half my face looks bigger than the other. No one else tells me that they notice it. My friend says 'you can tell its you'. But I notice because I can see the contrast from phone to mirror and it makes me feel horrible. I'm getting paranoid in trying to understand what image is the proper depiction of how I look! I'm only 17, and have quite clear skin… And a girl, so what is more accurate? Surely I can't look that different from the mirror? I know that sometimes you look different in a mirror cause you pull a face, but even when I don't, I see it.

Ah, the agony of self image. I hope that someday you will realize that your friends and the people who will become your friends will see you for who you are and not your appearance.

Neither camera, iPhone nor mirror are reliable. Only a true friend is reliable.

You have just gotten used to how you look in your mirror… Laterally inverted and also with any of the optical distortions that mirror has.

Get someone with a DSLR to photograph you at 35mm focal length on a camera with an APS-C sensor or 50mm on one with a 35mm sized sensor. Small cameras may have their zoom marked in the equivalents of what 35mm film cameras do and so their '50mm setting' will be the same.

50mm was thought to be the closest to what the human eye uses to show us the image of a person.
28mm will add more apparent 'depth' (big nose) and 100mm will have less depth (flatter face).
