Is a camera or a mirror a more realistic vision of what you look like?

I look great in the mirror but awful in iphone cameras. I know iphone cameras are bad, but in regular-pro cameras, which is more what you ACTUALLY look like… Mirror or camera? Haven't u ever wondered this?

The answer to your question is NEITHER. You can NEVER see yourself as others see you.

The mirror reverses the image so you see yourself flipped left to right
The camera manipulates light, has limited resolution, has limited contrast and limited depth of field for focus. The camera lens distorts perspective making your face look rounder or flatter than it really is.

The closest is the mirror because as your eye scans the image in the glass it does what no camera can do - it constantly re-focuses, it adjusts the "exposure" and your brain processes the image against preheld prejudices and memories.

A mirror is reversed. Lighting is important.

That's because iphones are useless for taking good photos.

Photos taken with a proper camera are 2D - and the right way round

Mirrors show you in 3D - and in reverse.

So the answer is that neither look exactly like how others see you.

I have never wondered this, because it is obvious.
