Is a tempered glass or otter box case better for an iPhone 6?

I'm looking into getting a new phone/phone case. I'm EXTREMLEY clumsy and know I will crack my phone. I have been looking into cases and my friends have told me to look into tempered glass and otterbox I can't figure out which one is better. Otter boxes have very cute styles however they are a bit pricey. While tempered glass seems to not have many options. Which is better? Please help me out, and leave some links to cases that you like?!

While tempered glass is good, it can still break, and if the jolt/shock is enough to break the tempered glass, it may also break the glass under it. It does offer better scratch protection than a plastic/film type screen protector, but it also cost more, and once it does get scratched up enough, you will want to replace it, just like you would one of the film/plastic ones.

If it were me getting an iPhone 6 or any of the larger screen phones, I would get an Otterbox, Lifeproof or Trident case. If you are going to be making installment payments on your phone, get AppleCare+ extended warranty or a SquareTrade protection plan, because replacing the phone if/when it gets damaged is going to cost you a pretty penny if you have to pay full retail. And neither option covers the loss of your phone, either from misplacing it or having it stolen. But for me, in 23 years, I have never lost a cell phone, nor had one stolen. If you feel the need for lost or stolen protection, get your carrier's cell phone insurance. For certain if you plan to use the phone near water, get a waterproof case or pouch. That means sinks, hot tubs, pools, lakes, rivers, toilets, etc.

And don't look at how pricey a case may be (Amazon will tend to have a better price on the same cases than the maker does), look at how much it will cost you to replace the phone if it gets damaged. Tempered glass is some what stronger then regular plate glass, but it was originaly designed to break into little 'square' pieces that weren't as dangerious in car wrecks as plate glass slivers. Yes, the tougher caes ARE $$$, but they work. Cases are nice as it prevents the build of the phone although tempered glass may prevent shattering of the screen

  • Will Otter replace my Otter Box? Ok so on my iPhone 4 otterbox the rubber is breaking off, the hard part is breaking to pieces and the plastic screen is coming off. My mom sent pics to Otter online and I heard the will replace it. Will they?
  • Which protects the iphone 4 better: an otter box or case mate? I'm getting an iphone4. I have in the past had an iphone3 and used an otterbox defender. This time I'm wanting to get something a little more stylish. I NEED the protection tho! So I'm wondering if the case mate protects as well as an otterbox?
  • Which iphone 5 otter box case is better? The defender or the commuter. I'm torn between the two because I read that if dust get in the defender case the iphone 5 screen to get scratch. But the commuter doesn't have a built in screen Protector that protect the screen or logo.
  • Um otter box case for iPhone 4S? My daughter indispensable school has a brand new iPhone 4S and I bought her a pink commuter otter box case for it. I bought it for her because the eighth graders shove her in the halls and I know she will drop it atleast once. She likes it but is it a good case with the protection it needs?
