Is a Wi-Fi signal blocked by water?
I have bought a gopro, it creates a Wi-Fi network that you can pick up with your iphone to controll the gopro. As soon as i throw the camera in the pool (yes it is waterproof) i can't see the gopro on my iphone anymore. When i pull it out it pops up again. So is the Wi-Fi signal blocked by water or is there another reason for this?
Yes. The navy uses ultra low frequencies to talk to their subs for that very reason.
Water absorbs 2.4Ghz RF/Wi-Fi. That is why microwave ovens use 2.4Ghz, water absorbs the radio waves and generate heat (cooking the food). Heavy rain will also affect any 2.4Ghz wireless link or bridge over any distance…
- Will blocked numbers on my iphone stay blocked when I get a new iphone? My girlfriend blocked a number of a person she wasn't supposed to be talking to. She swore up and down she did. She got a new phone and months later that number called. Did she lie to me. She uses the same icloud account, the same phone number.
- My iPhone has water in it how can I get the water out? I got a little bit of water in it at my pool and it shutoff within a minute or so, it won't turn back on and I have had it in rice for over 10 hours.
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
- Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
