Is Android the poor mans iPhone?

As an iPhone user, Whenever I see someone using an Android I automatically assume that they bought it cause they can't afford an iPhone.

Is this stigma true?

No, yes in some cases but No. IPhones only have one flagship version, while in Android there are hundreds. There are cheap Android phones, which are poor mans iPhone as you call it, and there are Android MORE Expensive and better than iPhones.

But there are also Androids that are cheap so you need to know which Phone they are using not which OS.

The latest iPhone, the iPhone 5S starts from $649 while the HTC One M8 or Samsung Galaxy S5 is $699. So there are much expensive Android phones than iPhones. But generally Android phones are either bought by people who can't afford an iPhone or people who have great knowledge of tech and have enough potential to mess around with their devices (people who know to customize Androids like using ROMS, changing features and replacing with 3rd partys etc).

My wife bought a android because she likes it. It's easy, and simple to use. She just plain don't care for all the high technology of an iphone

I don't use ANY Apple product because those that do are arrogant twits! I CHOOSE to be more levelheaded & do my own research & do what is BEST FOR ME! I use Android because I like it & you are delusional IF you think Androids are cheap! The S5 costs almost exactly what yours costs & does pretty much EVERYTHING yours does too! My niece had the iphone until she used mine for a day or so while she was staying with me & she insisted her dad switch her over to Android! Have you ever USED an android? IF not, your opinion is moot!

I use a samsung note, and I think an IPhone is so small and not that great. It's hyped, but that doesn't mean it's better, it's overpriced and some people see that and go with better phones for that money.

No. The iPhone is the rich man's Android.

I chose Android because it's an open platform and I can freely develop whatever apps I want for it.

No. My youngest and my grand daughter both have Iphones that I have purchased and pay the service for but I would not use one for my everyday use if you paid me too. I'm an android fan all the way you can keep your Icraps

Android is 99% Mobile Malware
Mostly Free where you can do what ever you want but again 99% mobile malware, FACT not fiction!
So unless your are a hacker, programmer or particularly have a special reason for using Android, go with iOS.

Too funny. My Galaxy Note 3 is as expensive or more so than iPhones.

I see iPhone users as Apple fanboys who are trying to be hip.

Thats pretty much true, mostly because the design on iphones is so much better. It integrates far better with hardware and OS too.
