Is APPLE getting desperate?
A few years ago I worked for Apple and during my time with them they stressed that their products were so good that they did not need to advertise them to sell them.
I must admit I went home after hearing that and could not remember seeing or hearing any advert for Apple products.
Now they are everywhere. Why?
Is it because the world has finally caught on and realised they can buy a better product for a fraction of the price apple charge.
When I worked for them they gave me an IPhone 6s to try out and give my opinion and then I could keep it. I already had a Samsung. My Samsung cost about half of what the IPhone would. I never used the IPhone after the trial and stuck with the Samsung, the IPhone is in a box somewhere upstairs.
Are apple so desperate that they realise people are turning to Samsung or other companies and secretly know that their products are not worth the money so they have been forced to advertise them to try and win back confidence?
I assume you're misremembering. Apple has always advertised. They're famous for some of their advertisements, like the "1984" Superbowl commercial. They've always run ad campaigns, many of which have won awards. I haven't noticed an uptick in their advertising of late, although I don't pay much attention to print media, so it's possible they've ramped up in that area. They do traditionally tend to have more ad saturation when new products are released.
Were you not watching TV or something? Apple's been advertising pretty heavily for years and years.

Define "a few years ago". Apple has obviously been advertising their products for decades now, including the infamous 1984 ad as well as the iconic iPod ads back when they debuted with the silhouettes of people with the white ear buds & the Apple vs PC ads.
A Samsung what? Samsung makes phones for low, mid & high end & depending on your needs in a phone you wouldn't need a high end phone like that iPhone 6s. Apple's phones are almost always high end targeted.
