Is Facetime free to use between different countries?
I live in the UK and can Facetime my sister in Australia with the SIM card in my iPhone but when I tried it without the SIM card it wouldn't let me do it. This makes me think I'm being charged for it. Any thoughts?
As long as you are connected to Wi-Fi you can do it. If you take out the sim, I think it unconnects from Wi-Fi! But it's completely free. An you can also use FaceTime if you have an apple computer with FaceTime on it and a webcam. Or an iPad if you have one.
Yeah, its free unless you are connected to a Wi-Fi!
Unless you are using a Wi-Fi connection you are always charged, whether in the UK or making calls abroad. Facetime uses the internet, so if you're not connected to Wi-Fi you will be using a 3G connection - you have to pay for this, hence it only works if your sim card is in the phone. It will cost no more to make a Facetime call to Australia than it does to someone elsewhere in the UK.
- What's the earliest/ cheapest type of ipod/ iphone I can use free Facetime with? Most of my phone bill goes towards texting and phone my girlfriend, so it would be much cheaper to just buy whatever I need to use Facetime or whatever it's called to do video calls over my Wi-Fi. What's currently the cheapest model capable of this? But which model of ipod? The very first one?
- What is the different between iPhone T-Mobile Unlock and iPhone Sim-Free? The unlocked iPhone in US Store is T-Mobile contract free but in Canada or UK is unlocked and Sim-Free. So, What is the different?!
- Using an IPhone when moving to different countries? If I brought an iPhone say from apple out right for 529 in the UK and then moved to Australia could I use the same iPhone on their service providers? Can then could I move to the US can change service providers again without changing the phone I bought in the UK?
- Two different computers, two different iTunes.can I use the same Apple ID? I have iTunes on my computer that I use for my iPhone, and my mon just got an iPod Touch and wants me to fill it for her. I'm going to use her computer to do this, which currently does not have iTunes. Once I download iTunes, can I use my own Apple ID to download songs and apps onto her iPod? Is it possible to do that without disturbing what's on my phone, or do I have to make a whole new iTunes account for her?
