Is Incognito Really Private?

So i go on Incognito a lot (I don't do anything bad). I don't like the history being stored andamp; all that. I read Fan fictions, i go on Facebook, Twitter, andamp; that's all. I was on Facebook the other day (Incognito) My "Step-Dad" Said, "She's on private again" andamp; before he has said, "Incognito doesn't make your things private". Could he be trying to scare me? Or could he be watching what i was doing from his iPhone or laptop? He seem's to only confront me when he is on his phone or laptop. Andamp; he has access to everything. But, i honestly doubt he has a key logger thing. I use Google.

If a person has access to the router, they have access to everyone's history on the Wi-Fi. Unless he hacked you, he can't get your passwords. If I were you, I would browse with Tor, a browser that guarantees your safety (you might know it as the deep web). Though there are some bad things on the browser, if you just use normal websites, you'll have guaranteed privacy.

Going incognito only stops the computer from logging what you do. Your router, however, continues to log everywhere you go. If he's smart, he can see every site you visit.

No, nothing is really private and incognito just stops the computer itself from saving your browsing history, the internet provider, your boss if it is a work computer and maybe even your parents if they have web use tracking software on the pc can still see what you are doing and any downloads or bookmarks are saves so most of what youère doing is not private

you also should know if you don't already that anything you post online is online forever, even a snapchat photo is saved on a server and can be accessed again by anyone who has server access ( or it can be saved by the person you send it to, re-posted and shared and be out there forever in public )

Your history is still stored in the router and the ISP log files.

He can watch what you do with monitoring tools out there.

No, incognito is really not private. When you are in incognito mode then browsing history is not stored to your computer, but your browsing history will be tracked by IP address, ISP and search engine server log.

He has a trojan horse parent security program.

He can see you remotely and rewind your actions like on that denzel washington movie deja vu.

He's got your secrets.

There are two rules when it comes to the Internet:
1. There's no such thing a being truly 'anonymous'.
2. Common sense is the best form of security.

Here's how incognito mode works:
-Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito aren't recorded in your browsing and download histories.
-All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows that you've opened.
-Changes made to your Google Chrome bookmarks and general settings while in incognito mode are always saved.

Look at it from this perspective: your house is a company, your dad is the IT personnel responsible for keeping the network up and you are an employee at the company. You are the highest security risk at the company because you have no idea how computers works and it's a part of the IT security teams job to make sure you aren't doing anything that could harm the company. Your right to privacy exists only in the space between your ears and what you may write down on paper.

Even with using Incognito, there are various other ways to track your internet usage inside and outside the home (without having to sit at your PC). If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to worry about. Always assume that you're are being watched… Because you always are by someone.
