Is iOS 7 worth staying with iPhone for?

I have this guy who wants to sell me a mint condition Samsung Galaxy S4 for Verizon (which is the network I'm on) it is the 32GB model for about $450.

The thing is I've grown quite bored with my iPhone 5 having been an iPhone user since 2008 when the iPhone 3G came out (it was my first smartphone). I fell in love instantly with my 3G then I got the iPhone 4 and now the iPhone 5 but 6 years is a long time and I'm pretty sick of staring at a grid.

Apple has addressed some major issues I had with iOS mainly the lack of quick settings access, as well as the horrific browser that is/was Safari with its 8 window limit. Also the multitasking is infuriating for iOS 6 and below with me having to double tap the home button then holding the icon and then tapping them dead one by one.

iOS 7 has addressed all these major issues BUT I still can't shake the boring feel of a 4x5 grid of apps, and to be honest the iOS 7 color scheme looks like a drugged-out raver's wet dream.

The S4 is a great phone, the iPhone 5 is also a fantastic gadget and I think the iPhone's Achilles heel is iOS itself. I want the S4 but I kind of want to wait and see how the iOS 7 experience will be different when compared to previous iterations of iOS.

My big problem is this guy told me I have a week to think on it otherwise he has another buyer interested and that he is only holding it for me because I'm his cousin's friend, I'm also a college student lol. So the $450 financial hit can't go without compensation meaning I'm going to have to sell my iPhone in order to get the Galaxy and remain financially stable.

Should I wait? Or should I pull the trigger and go ahead with the switch to Samsung and Android?

Also before anyone suggests it, I don't want to wait for the Note 3 as it will surely be even bigger than the Note 2 which is already a little too big for my liking to start with, 5 inches seems perfect for me, nor do I want an S3 (S3's more rounded corners make it look pretty ugly like a pill, while the S4 is squared out just enough to avoid that body shape.)

I've used both android and iOS but I personally prefer iOS simply because I like the experience of the platform. However, I think you should go with the S4 not because of hardware specs but for android since you're bored with the icon grid. Android's app drawer is essentially the same thing but with android you get homescreens with widgets along with custom launchers and a myriad of themes. Performance of app and games are still better on iOS(I played asphalt 7on S4 and iPhone 5, I know what I'm talking about).Since you already know about iOS 7, it goes without saying how radical a change it was, so I'm expecting radical hardware changes for the iPhone in the next 1 or 2 years, so for now buy the S4 and maybe buy a iPhone in 2014 /2015.

It's not worth waiting for,

S4 is streets ahead of the iphone 5.

The new ios7 isn't gonna be much exciting. It's just gonna be what all the other new phones have.

I think iOS7 is going to be great, but more importantly I think the next iphone is going be even better.

  • Why is my game staying the same as before? I installed HayDay on my iPhone and its fun but I've made mistakes and I want to restart. I deleted the game and removed it from the Game Center, but every time I try to re-install, it pops up where I left off, on the same level and with all the same things. How can I restart?

This just happened when I was at work and it drained my battery, anyone else have this problem? Tried resetting my phone and everything
