Is is possible to get a brand new phone with bad credit?
I'm trying to get one of the newer iPhones but considering my credit pretty bad, the only way I could this is if I pay for the phone up from (the full $1000). From what I've read, the only way I could get a new one is if someone cosigns, etc. Has anyone ever done this before? Who was your carrier?
Only an idiot would cosign for someone with bad credit.
I don't know if you could use a co-signer. I think the closest would be to get your "co-signer" to open the account under his/her name.
No. All the major carriers got rid of the subsidized phone and going with a leasing plan. With a subsidized plan, the carrier helps pay for a portion of your phone but you have to stick with the carrier for 2 years. With the leading plan, it's the same idea but the carrier doesn't have to help you pay for your phone but you're still lock in a 2 year plan. If you can't afford to pay off the phone at any time, you'll have to stick with the carrier.
