Is it a good idea to to upgrade iphone 3GS to iOS 5?

Pros and cons

I don't think it's a good idea to do that.iOS 5 will work slowly on iPhone 3gs.

Well a 3GS won't receive iOS 6 or Siri ever, so pro's would be iMessage ( free texting other iPhones and iDevices), better Safari, iCloud, Folders, and Shared photostreams.

Also GameCenter and Newspapers, as well as the ability to run current apps built on iOS 5.1.1

Cons. You won't be able to return to your old iOS, but you won't miss it, as iOS 5 is an improvement for all iDevices.

I have iOS 6 on an iPod touch beta 3 ( yeah I know we're on beta 4 already shut it, I don't care) and it's awesomer with only 256 mb of ram. So you should upgrade.

Actually I believe you can go back to your old iOS by downloading an ispw from the internet and after doing a restore and activating your iphone, and setting it up as new on iTunes, and selecting check for update but holding the shift key and selecting the ispw file you downloaded from the internet. Then iTunes sets up the old iOS version back. I did this but to get to iOS 6 Beta 3 on my iPod and it works because the iOS is activated with apple after the restore and you're simply performing an upgrade) or in this case a downgrade after the restore.

The ISPW file is iOS ( put the version you downloaded here)

  • What do you do with a good iPhone app idea but no money? I thought of a brilliant iPhone app idea. This idea is potentially worth millions (Of course it would be a big project to get started). The problem is that I have no money to hire programmers, and I definitely can't make it by myself. Any advice?
  • Is this a good idea for a cheap way to get the iPhone 5? I just thought of this idea. I currently have an iPhone 4 and I want an iPhone 5. There are no upgrades until May and I can't take that one. Is a good idea to add a new line for 10 dollars, Cancel my other line for 175$, add data for 35$ and then buying the iPhone for 200$. That will equal a little over 400$ and then selling my phone for 150$.So all I really have to pay is around 250$. Do you think this will work or will it mess up my family's account plan. Any suggestions?
  • Is Jailbreaking my IPhone 4S a good idea or not? I use lots of apps, especially games for me and my lad. In simple terms can someone give me pros and cons of jailbreaking it, and their overall view **disclaimer** Jailbreaking an IPhone is perfectly legal Slows down the iphone drains battery alot faster ---… Is that because of the extra apps, or does the actual jailbreak do these?
  • Is it a good idea to update my iphone 4? I currently have an iphone 4 ios 5.1 modem firmware 04.12.01 and if i update to 5.1.1 will the modem firmware change to 04.12.02? And is there an unlock for 5.1.1 04.12.02 or 5.1 04.12.01? I do want to unlock it to tmobile and if there's a good solution let me know
