Is it fair to get an iphone the same time as your older sibling? - 1

So i'm 16 and my brothers 18(but we're just one school year apart) and my parents got my brother an iphone but they say that I can't get one because it wouldnt be fair for my brother, but I wrote my parents like 3 essays on why i should get one and talked about it and researched it and my brother pretty much just asked

Coming from an older sister, I don't think it would be fair.

I have a younger sister. She is very nice and I love her to death. When I was 12 I asked my parents for my first phone. They said it was funny to ask such a stupid question. They later got me a used phone on my 15th birthday. It being my first phone, I was very happy. A few months later my sister's 12th birthday came around and she got the same phone. I was extremely sad. I was happy she got a phone, but upset at the same time. I began to think they liked her more or she was better than I was. Till this day, my family still calls her on MY birthday and says happy birthday to her. Until I moved out, my parents used to get me presents for my birthday. Every year, they got her something too. They said "If we buy it for you, we have to buy it for her" I started to resent my sister and it wasn't until a few years ago we began to like each other.

Think of it from your brothers point of view. "I had to wait till I was 18 for this phone, and she gets it when she is 16?" Doesn't sound fair, now does it?
