Is it illegal to contact a stranger using your job to acquire their number?

So out of no where I get a call from this guy saying that I cut him off. (I have California license plates but been living heI work for Pizza Hut as a delivery driver so sometime it happens when I'm following my GPS and a turn comes out of nowhere. I have an iPhone 4 still, yes I know I'm poor for that, so when it updates the distance for the turn it takes a few second and at the last minute it will tell you to turn) Anyways, so he calls me and goes you cut me off the other day and I work at the DMV and traced your license plates and got you number. Now this guy not only called me to contact me but he called my parents too because I I didn't answer the dirt two times but I guess there number is still on my thing which I don't remember putting there number anywhere on my papers. But yea, so he called my mom then called me then when I didn't answer the first two times he called my parents then called me from a different number then I answered and he said some stuff. Then I hung up.

Keep his number and file a complaint with DMV. He will lose his job.

Get his name and phone number.

Then call the DMV to complain about the harassment and his personal use of DMV information.

Do NOT threaten him or tell him that you are going to do this.

Let HIM get an unexpected call from HIS boss.

Report him to the DMV and to the cops. Tell them you feel threatened by his stalking behavior

If you have a record of his phone number, report him to the DMV. What he did breaches confidentiality and is improper use of company resources. He will be fired, if what you say is true.

Totally illegal, file a complaint with his boss immediately, he will be terminated and charged as it is a crime to use this information like he did
