Is it legal to use an NFL team logo on personal merchandise not for sale? - 1
I want to make a custom back plate for my iPhone using the Washington Redskins NFL team logo. Would I face any legal repercussions for doing this even though I do not intend to sell it and am only getting the plate made for my use only?
Added (1). I actually wouldn't be doing it myself. There's a German website back2cover.de/en that makes customizable back plates and gives you the option of uploading a picture to use for the image but they mention that you are not allowed use copyrighted or trademarked material. I'm just wondering if there would be consequences considering I'm not doing this for commercial purposes.

No. Take q look at the Georgia Bulldogs - they copied the same "G" logo that Green Bay has on their helmets and merchandise… I believe its when you use the name with it, that things go wrong.
