Is it possible to sync up an iPhone 4 to a PS3 and record gameplay?

The charger cord does fit into the PS3, but I'm not sure how it would work. Does anyone know how to do this or is it impossible?

NO!

The only way to record game play is to have a video capture device.

The USB cord is only for sharing files and charging.

No. PS3 doesn't out put video through USB. Recording game play doesn't work like that. People record game play using a capture device, which you plug the cables that would normally go in to the tv, in to, then either using a splitter, or on a lot of the higher end capture devices, run cables from that to the TV

On most though, you can't use HDMI, even if the device has hdmi in, since ps3 uses encryption. So if you want to record in HD you'd need to use component cables for most HD capture devices. You could also use a DVD recorder, at a pinch.

If you're looking at recording gameplay, you'd need to look in to these. They range from super cheap ones which put out terrible quality, such as the EasyCap http://www.amazon.co.uk/...002H3BSCM/ to full HD ones such as the Hauppauge HDPVR, which barely lose any image quality from the original source. If you want to be fairly serious about it, I would go with the HDPVR (I did) But if you just want to capture a bit of footage as you play to show to people, and still want to play in HD you might be better off with the Roxio Game capture, this wil allow you to still play in HD, but doesn't record in HD, although its quality is still pretty good http://www.amazon.co.uk/...004SB1RVI/

If you're not too bothered about playing in HD, or don't have an HD TV, you might be better off with going for something like the Dazzle, it's cheap and fairly high quality http://www.amazon.co.uk/...001918NLC/
