Is it possible to update iPhone 5 from 7.0 to 7.1.2?
My dad decided to make the plunge from flip phones to a smart phone. As he is extremely clumsy I thought a good compromise would be to give him an iPhone 5 I have laying around. It currently has ios 7.0 on it. I think he'd appreciate performance over extra features he'll never use, so I'd like to keep it on ios 7, but upgrade to the newest version of 7.1.2. Is it possible? I know the only version currently being offered is ios 9 officially, though doing an OTA update offers an update to 8.4.1
Added (1). If not possible, should I stick to 7.0 or go for 8.4.1? I've read it's far more sluggish a phone on ios 8.
Nope. Too late to only use that. The latest version for that would be iOS 9.0.2 which is also the latest version for everyone.
- New iOS 6 update, find my iPhone update? I don't like the new find my iPhone update is there a way to change back to the old find my iPhone but keep the new update? It's not showing locations like it used to and won't even how me major boroughs like Croydon. Streets are difficult to see, much smaller picture. General *** compared to the older version.
- Is the iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 3 safe to update? On my first iPhone there were problems, and the update didn't help it wiped out everything and among other things had to get a new iPhone. The iPhone I have now works, so should I risk this update? It's a 3GS.
- Is it possible to update your iPhone 5 if it's jailbreaked? I jailbreaked my iPhone in January and I would like to update it to iOS 7 when it comes out. And my question is… Is it going to be possible?
- Is it possible to update read emails on iPhone before opening Mail app? It's super annoying when my Mail app displays a number of unread messages and when they appear on the lock screen, after I've already opened them on my computer. Is there any way to get it to update read emails, so I don't have to open Mail to get the badge counter to go away?
