Is it possible to use an iPhone 4 from Verizon, without a data plan?
Hi. I'm going to be upgrading my Samsung Alias 2 to an iPhone 4S (On a budget). But I also wanted to upgrade my parents' phone's to the iPhone 4, which is available 4 with 2 year contract. But is there a way to use the iPhone 4 without a data plan? I'll be using all/most of the data and all/most of the texts. My parents have never used text or internet for a phone before, and I don't think they ever will. Their main features will probably be the 8.0 megapixel camera, music/videos from an SD card, and making calls. I really do want to give them something better than a cheap, basic, free phone. But since they don't use any of the data, its pointless to be paying $180 with the Share Everything plan. So can it be used without data? And if not, what's the better route to take. Both phone & plan wise.
They won't sell you an iPhone unless you buy a data plan.
Verizon won't let you put a smartphone on any plan without a data plan. Check out Page Plus Cellular. They use Verizon's network and are much, much cheaper in the long run.
- What is data in a Verizon data plan? I just got an iphone 5 and am having some trouble. I know that data includes email, accounts and any internet websites (facebook, youtube, netflix). Does it use up data to have multiple internet browsers open even though I only look at one at a time? Is it possible to use up data when the phone is off? Also, is taking a picture, playing app games, listening to music, and siri considered to be "data" on the data plan? Is there an overall explanation for what a data plan is?
- Use an iPhone without a data plan? (verizon)? I have a flip phone that has been failing me lately. I went to verizon and saw a very small selection of phones that don't require data plans, and out of the selection there weren't any that I saw good reviews for. - Possible to do AT&T prepaid plan without GoPhone (want to use my own iPhone 4)? I'm currently on T-Mobile and you know how it is with iPhone… Only 2G and no 3G data. I'm done with my contract and need to use the phone for 5 more months so I don't want to sign up a 2 year contract. I'm going to restore my phone back to factory state and want to sign up for AT&T prepaid plan but is it possible to do it w/o buying the GoPhone?
