Is it really worth to purchase the new iPhone 8?

I wasn't planning at all to buy a new iphone but I got robbed and lost my iPhone 6s Plus and now that this new generation of iPhones was released, I have the doubt of which iPhone I should buy.
I really love the iPhone 7 design of black matte color and the bad news is that this new iPhone 8 does not has that design. Also I want to ask you if there are any significant differences between the two models.
I really need a new iPhone but i don't know which one I must buy.
Any information or advice?

The iPhone 8 and iPhone X are nearly identical in almost every way except in look. There are only 5 main differences between the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X.

The iPhone 8 is only lacking on the camera and the screen display technology. (sorta) And it lacks face ID instead having the superior Touch ID as most would probably agree with.

The iPhone 8 has 98% of all the features the iPhone X has. And it has a couple of key advantages the iPhone X lacks. For one, you get better color choices with the 8. And second, while the display may not be quite as good as the OLED panel on the iPhone X, it does not suffer from all the cropping issues the iPhone X is plagued with at the same time. And it doesn't have a horribly ugly notch that cuts off the images in videos and games.

The iPhone 8 does not support the new "Animoji" emoji gimmick either. Just FYI.

The main camera on the back is identical to the iPhone X. But the secondary zoom lens does not have optical image stabilisation or as bright of an aperture lense.

But the main camera supports the same image quality and video recording functionality and features like 4K.

So the 8 is a downgrade in some ways. But in others it's an upgrade from the iPhone X, as the iPhone X has some clear shortcomings the iPhone 8 does not suffer from. Plus the iPhone 8 is going to be far more readily available and it's $200.00 cheaper with the same internal specs and 98% of the same features. The iPhone X will be nearly impossible to buy before Christmas due to extremely limited production capacity, as Samsung isn't going to supply very many screens for it this year. It won't be readily available until next January or February according to most tech experts. However the 8 will be. And it will probably offer the better experience anyway due to it not suffering from a notch that crops out your images.

Aka… The 8 gives you a better bang for your buck.

I'd get the 8.

If you want to save money though the 7 is fine.

The 8 is an overall improvement on the 7 in particular its performance.

I would get the 6s because it has the same earbud jack as my Sansa Player. I think any that you pay full price for should be SIM-free.
