Is it safe to delete photos from my Camera Roll now?

I currently have over 3, 000 photos in my Camera Roll, and they are taking up Way too much space on my iPhone (4S).
I just did the back up in iTunes, so is it safe to delete photos from my phone now? Will they still be on my computer?

If you have a mac, then you have to import them in iphoto. If not, you should be ok.

I'm not sure this is a guaranteed process that will work if you plan on updating to iOS 6, and to be safe you should go to my computer and right click your iPhone 4S and select transfer photos or media into a new folder on your pictures folder labeled iPhone 4S Photos, it will ask you if you want to delete them after they are copied to the computer. Select that checkbox and let it do it's thing. Should take a while because you have a lot of photos and you should let it go at night, and wake up to your photos transferred to the folder the next morning. An iTunes backup won't work if you update your iOS and your photos won't show up on your computer in a folder either.

  • When you delete photos from your Photo Stream does it delete from your Camera Roll? Hi, I'm running out of storage on my phone so I thought the best thing to do would be to delete some photos, and obviously my photo stream folder uses up tons of space, but when I delete photos from the photo stream do they delete from camera roll too? Or vice versa? Obviously I'm using Apple (iPhone 5C) please answer quickly and thanks x
  • Photos from iphone camera roll are showing up on ipad camera roll? The pictures from my iphones camera roll are showing up on my dads ipad's camera roll. It is really annoying. Please Help. I tried calling Geek Squad but they were absolutely no help at all. I didn't share these photos through that icloud thing and i didn't send them to the ipad in any way. They just showed up on the camera roll. Please Help ME! I need to get them off the ipad and prevent them from showing up next time i take a photo on my iphone. anything will help.
  • If you delete a picture on photostream is it still in camera roll? If I put a picture on my mac to photostream and it moves to my Iphone's photostream and I delete the picture from my photostream on my mac, will there still be a picture left on the iphone in camera roll?
  • If I delete All my photos from my IPhone cam roll, does that delete All videos as well? I have an iPhone 5 and have just downloaded all my pics from my camera roll onto my computer. Since they're now saved onto something else, I want to delete all of them from my cam roll-- but does this delete all the videos also? (somehow I'm unable to download the videos to my computer).
