Is it safe to purchase a second-hand iPhone?
I have been wanting to purchase a new cell phone for a long time, and I really want a good smartphone. I've heard that iPhones are one of the best options on the market, but they are really expensive! Is it possible to get these at a reduced rate?
I was thinking about buying a used iPhone, it doesn't really matter which generation. Is there a good website to do this? If so, is it safe to do so? What kinds of problems do I need to watch out for. I know I'm asking a lot, but I really want to make sure I get the best iPhone for the best price.

Expensive? My iPhone was free. All I had to do was renew my contract with AT&T. Verizon offered them for $1 if you renew your contract with them. The newest iPhone, like 5 is expensive, but mine is 4s and it was definitely free.

James, there are several places where you can get a gently used iPhone. You can visit www.amazon.com, www.ebay.com or your local Craigslist for used iPhones. The generation actually does matter slightly because as new iPhones are introduced, new updates come out for the phones. The older models of iPhones can't be updated to the newest update. When you are searching for an iPhone, you want to make sure that it has a clean ESN. If it doesn't you will not be able to activate it. Also, if you will be switching to a different carrier than the one service the previous owner used, you will need to ensure that the phone has been unlocked.
