Is it true that iPhones can't have viruses?
Is it true that iPhones can't have viruses?
Pretty much. The Phone is locked down and really not open for attack.
Yeah, pretty much, just don't take that as a excuse to try to put a bunch of stupid stuff on your phone. You may not be able to get viruses, but you can mess up your phone in other ways
It's not impossible, but it's unlikely, for two reasons.
1. You can only get apps from Apple's app store, and Apple checks those apps to make sure they don't do anything bad (although once in a while something still slips through the cracks).
2. The operating system iOS limits the kinds of things apps can do to the system and to other apps, much more than other phone operating systems such as Android. So even if an app wants to be bad, there's not a lot of opportunity for damage.
Here's an example of a way an iPhone can get a virus, although I don't think it's every actually happened
You can download hacks if you go on the wrong websites. But yeah I don't really see where you could get a virus from besides the websites.
- Is it true that walmart sells iphones really cheap? http://abcnews.go.com/Business/walmart-cuts-price-apple-iphone-5s-5c/story?id=24331208 i read this article which said that walmart sells iphone 5c for only 29$ with a contract? Is it truee?
- Is it true that iPhones can only Bluetooth to other iPhones and no other device? I was thinking of buying either a iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S4, but a friend of mine said that iPhones can only transfer files to other iPhones via Bluetooth, which sucks.
- How can you remove adware or viruses on your iPhone? Do you have to take it to an Apple shop to have the iOS operating system reinstalled? Or could you do it yourself? Or could you use an Anti-virus software to remove the virus (without having to restore the factory settings)?
- Can your iPhone give your PC viruses when connected? Is it possible to give your PC a virus from your iPhone? As I may have accidentally downloaded a dodgy app and I did a scan recently on my computer with Avast and something came up called "Rogue.Multi" I read that this can be caused from downloading dodgy programs intended to do harm… But I don't recall downloading anything I wasn't sure about on my PC. So i'm wondering where this virus came from…
