Yes usually. Once the motherboard gets wet on almost any electronics it is fried. The inside of the phones circuits and solder points fuse together because water is a conductor. If you took it apart you would actually see rust spots & corrosion on the metal parts of the inside board. There's a company on eBay that claims to be able to fix some water damaged Iphones. All they do is take It apart and try and clean and get rid of the rust trails and corrosion that fuse all the metal contacts inside together. If they can't get it working they refund you but you are still out your shipping money. Look them up. I also sell cell phones and have fixed and repaired many blackberries and smartphones and 9/10 they can't be salvaged if water damaged. Although my girl once dropped her iPhone 3 in a tub of water last year and immediately removed it and put a hair dryer to it before the rust and corrosion formed inside. It worked after but speaker was intermittent. But most of the time you are screwed and sell it for parts on eBay for $50 if it's a 4 and about $125 if it's a 5
- My iPhone 5 screen is beyond repair and I need to access my photos. What can I do? My iPhone 5 screen literally broke off the rest of my phone so now I can't access it. I tried plugging my phone into my laptop to use iTunes and get my stuff though there but it says I need to confirm from my iphone, which obviously I can't. Also, apparently my icloud was switched off because I went on it and it has nothing saved.Is there any other way to access everything on my phone or at least my photos?

I just dropped it on the sidewalk (ironic, because a few hours ago, I had ordered a protective case.) and at first, all I saw we're little paint chips and scratches on the bottom. - Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
