Is Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock (the app for ipod/iphone) safe?

I've heard that it can be very dangerous and can give you brain cancer as it is next to your head and uses the accelerometer (or something like that) - Is this true?

People say that sleeping with your phone by your head can give you brain cancer because cell phones emit radiation, which can cause cell mutations. I don't think it's enough to give you cancer though, but it's up to you if you want to take that chance.

The panic mongers love to confuse people with the word 'Radiation'
The instant association is with Nuclear or Atomic radiation - which is extremely dangerous.

However, radiation just means something spreading from a point - from Radial lines in a circle.

The 'Radiation' from phones & electronics is Electromagnetic energy - the same stuff as Sunlight.

A phone emits a fraction of a watt; you get 1000 watts per square metre from the Sun on a clear day in England.

If you literally buried yourself in mobile phones, you would still only get a fraction of the energy you get outside in daylight…

Don't let the panic mongers mess with your brain! They are far more dangerous.

Yes, the sleep cycle alarms use the accelerometers built in to the iphone to sense how much you move about in bed, I use the one by Azumio sometimes, it works very well.

  • Why doesn't my alarm clock sound off on my iphone? Although it "alarms" when it should, it doesn't ring, it only vibrates. Does anyone know how to fix this? P.S I had a 4 day weekend last week, and I kept leaving my phone everywhere, so I didn't get to turn off the alarm clock for maybe 3 days, so maybe this is the reason?
  • Where can I buy an alarm clock like this? Something that can charge my iPhone 3GS and also use my music as an alarm but looks really nice (colourful?) and maybe has a few unique features maybe? I can't seem to find anything like this so need help! I also live in england so it needs to be able to ship here without costing too much and my price range is £50 max. Preferably around £30!
