Is the Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS only good?

I have the iPhone 8 and I really want an apple watch. The GPS only is quiet cheaper than the one with LTE. What's the difference? And should I get the gps only like will it let me k now when some one is calling, messages, etc…

The gps depends on where you are. The iphone 8 has a good gps. So why need a apple watch. Just get a normal watch.

You can use the watch as a GPS-enabled fitness tracker and a few other things without needing the phone for communication.

Things that need live communication or help from the phone -- calls, messages, Siri, etc. -- need either a Bluetooth link to the phone or Wi-Fi access on a network the watch has learned the password to.

LTE extends that by giving the watch its own SIM (and an extra monthly charge from the cellular company), so it becomes much more independent, you can leave the phone behind more often.

For the record GPS & LTE are 2 separate things & don't correlate with one another.

GPS concerns location & LTE concerns mobile data.

The LTE model is more independent of your iPhone since it has its own data capabilities so you could leave the phone home if need be.

GPS concerns location so it would be more accurate in that regard, for example if you were using it to track a fitness run. Has nothing to do with calls/texts.
