Is the iphone 3GS any good now?

I want to get a iphone 3GS but a friend keeps telling me that the 3 is slow and bad. Is it that bad? He keeps telling me that the iphone 4/4S would be better, and that I should wait for the iphone 5. Should I wait?

My stupid tmobil plan is ending NEXT YEAR, so it should be enough time for the iphone's price to lower abit.

I don't recommend going with the 3GS. While enticing because it is cheap, the hardware is dated and Apple will likely no longer support the phone after releasing the new iPhone.So, stay safe by holding out for the iPhone 5, or going with the 4S now if you really can't wait.

The 3GS is free with a new contract from AT&T, but the iPhone 5 is supposed to come out in September, which means that the iPhone 3GS SHOULD be gone. The iPhone 4 SHOULD be free (it's $100 now) with a new AT&T plan. The iPhone 4S SHOULD be $100, and the iPhone 5 SHOULD be $200.

REMEMBER YOU WILL HAVE TO SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT CARRIER TO GET THE IPHONE BUT YOU CAN GET AN UNLOCKED VERSION OF IT WHICH WILL COST $375 FOR THE CHEAPEST IPHONE 3GS.

Well the 3GS is still a capable phone & it still gets iOS updates but I do at the same time agree with your friend in that you should wait for the next iPhone (not going to be called 5) to come out.

Oh & once the price is set at launch by Apple it doesn't drop until around or after the next iPhone is launched.

  • Why won't iTunes transfer any song or any file to any of my devices? I have unistalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times. When I go to to transfer a song to iphone, ipad, ipod it just freezes up and doesn't do anything. I'm running the newest version of the program. What do I need to do? Just want to fix it. Thanks. I have waited on the program to transfer just to see if it is slow or what and it took 30 mins and nothing. I can't download software updates also.
  • Jailbroke iPhone, now NO signal on ANY network? Cydia, iOS 6.0, 3GS? I jailbroke my iPhone purely because I want to unlock it to all networks (I live in Australia and it's a British phone). I used evasi0n and now I have Cydia installed on the phone. I also installed ultrasn0w from Cydia app store. Not only does the phone not work with my Aussie SIM card, it now no longer works with the Original simcard (it was working fine before the jailbreak).It just says "searching" and then eventually "SOS only". Any help tech experts?
