Is the iPhone 4S still worth getting? - 1
The display isn't that small for me as I'm 13 and don't need a massive 5' screen. My iPod touch 4th gen is slow and can't really handle simple tasks well any more.
All I mainly would do it:
Text
Bit of gaming
Music
Snapchat
Facebook
YouTube
So nothing major, mainly just socialising and stuff. It'd be on a 2 year contract so I wouldn't have it for ages, I would just get an upgrade.
I like iOS and Android.
My main concern is that battery life and updates. Will the 4S get iOS 8?
Anyhow thanks everyone
5S is not the latest hardware but still a really good phone, many are still using it today, actually many are still using version 4 even today.
The iPhone 4s is a great phone. Out of all of the iPhones my friends have, most of them have the 4s. When I owned one 1 year ago, it worked with no issues. However, since I upgraded my phone and sold my 4s to someone else I knew, he has had issues with it. For example, the Wi-Fi is locked in the "off" position and the battery life has drastically decreased (He told me he may only get 4 hours on a single charge with normal use; 7 hours in standby). However, these issues are due to IOS 7 pushing the capabilities of the phone and the usage of the phone. Also, this phone runs on ancient 3G, which, compared to 4G/LTE internet speed is like comparing the speed of a SmartCar to a Bugatti.
One more thing: the iPhone 4s and support for it will be discontinued in September of this year, or upon the release of the iPhone 6/Air. This means it will not get IOS 8 or any future updates. If you are on a 2 year contract with your phone company, then this phone, in the final 6 months of your contract, will likely be at the point in which no apps will work on it, including the ones you've mentioned, and the battery life will be drained down to possibly a mere 4 hours, like my old one.
Imo, I'd suggest getting the 4s on an early upgrade plan (Edge from Verizon, Next from AT&T, Jump from T-Mobile, or Easy Pay from Sprint, which is only around for a limited time), which could actually save you money as well and there's no Early Termination Fee on most carriers if you switch. However, if you have to stay on that 2 year contract of yours, then don't buy it.
- Is the iPhone 5s still worth getting in 2015? Is it getting obsolete? My mom might be considering on getting me an iPhone, but she said that i Can't get a 6. She might be getting me a 5s instead. I don't know when yet though. How many years will Apple support software updates? It is already almost two years old and is it still a worth getting?
- Is the iPhone 4s still worth getting? I was just wondering if the iPhone 4s is still worth getting? (Its July 2012) because I might get one sooner or later and I wanna make sure I make the right choice. My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I have to say i don't really like it. :l… Thanks!
