Is the Iphone Photo flip correct?

So if you take a picture using the front ward facing camera on the iphone/ipod touch, it flips the photo, rotates it horizontally and that's the picture.
Is that correct?
Is what we see in the mirror just a lie?
If I take a photo using this frontward facing camera I become almost unrecognizable to myself
What I see in the mirror and what I see in this picture look completely different, what I want to know is, is this flipped picture how people see me? Or is the mirror reflection how people see me? When speaking to me face to face.

There been a battle between camera and mirror for a long time.

Mirrors see your self in high definition and 3D. It's very accurate mirrors capture everything perfectly.

Camera's especially Ipods or phone camera haven't got great quality don't capture the person perfectly its not a good representation of how you look like. All so camera rely on lighting to look your best in pictures you need a really good camera and to stand in areas where there's loads of light even then you won't look exactly like you do but that would be the nearest.
