Is the nexus 4 a decent upgrade from the iphone 3G?

I'm upgrading from the iPhone 3G to the nexus 4. I've been wanting to try android for a while. I'm jailbroken so i can get used to the customizations. Are there any other big differences? What about any tips?

The Nexus 4 is a huge upgrade from the iPhone 3G! (and it's even a big upgrade from the iPhone 5!) Here's a couple of things, I'll compare it to the iPhone 5.

Nexus 4 has a larger, higher resolution, better screen than the iPhone 5 at roughly the same density.
Nexus 4 has the same camera as the iPhone 5, and both pump out some pretty good photos.
Nexus 4 has a faster processor than the iPhone 5.
Nexus 4 has a similar speaker to the iPhone 5.
Nexus 4 has 2GB of RAM, iPhone 5 has 1. Thanks to this, the Nexus 4 has some impressive multitasking.
It also has a Full RGB LED Notification light, you can set any color you'd like.
Nexus 4 features NFC, which allows you to share to other NFC-enabled phones just by tapping them. You can also use your phone to make in store payments - when you're at the register, you can tap your phone on the terminal to pay. Here's a demo (the phone in the video is a Nexus S, but it works on all Nexus devices);

Nexus 4 has may other features you'd love. The hardware is amazing, and the Android 4.2 Operating System is amazing.

The Nexus 4 is a HUGE upgrade from the iPhone (doesn't matter which one). A jailbroken iPhone still doesn't compare to a stock Android, let alone a rooted one.

It will be perfect for you. Saying you have jailbroken your iPhone it means you like customisation. Android is then perfect for you. Size wise the Nexus 4 is not that much bigger than the iPhone 3GS. Hardware wise it will be a big upgrade.

Using the KISS principle:
The iphone 3G is a five year old phone. With this said the display, processor, GPU, and OS don't even come close to the nine month old Nexus 4. Therefore the Nexus is a monumental and overdue upgrade. You will definitely enjoy unadulterated android. A nice tip is investing in a QI wireless charger.

  • Where can i get a decent used iPhone 4 for under £100? I'd love to have an iPhone but i don't have the cash, it would have to be to either UK or European specification and be unlocked.a 4 would be good, a 4S would be even better. I don't want to spend any more than £120. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.
  • Where can i find a decent iphone 5 charger that isn't apple? I've been through so many apple chargers and they all somehow stop working. Just looking for some places where i could purchase one. Preferably a store, not online.
  • What's a decent wireless router? It's only me and I'll only need to run my iPhone and computer off of the wireless. I'll be using my Xbox with a hard line, so I'm not sure if that effects the wireless speed. I just want something that won't cause me to lose speed. What are some choices under say, $30?
  • WHAT'S A DECENT SPEAKER SYSTEM? I'm after a decent 2.1 speaker system. 2 speakers and subwoofer. Just good quality and bass.must be compatable for a PC and has a AUX present for use of iPhones.
