Having this problems figuring this out. Is the Verizon iPhone 5c GSM or CDMA?

All new iPhones are GSM

Verizon iPhone 5c is both CDMA and GSM.

Both. Despite the fact that Verizon is a CDMA network the iPhones from the 4S up have SIM slots available on them as well, though it would be activated to work on the CDMA network so technically it is CDMA at that point.
