Is there a way to break the activation lock on an iphone 6?

How do I break an activation lock on the iPhone 6? I recently bought an iPhone 6 off ebay in the hopes of restoring the phone to a somewhat perfect condition and using it for myself. The only thing that was wrong with the phone was a cracked screen. I didn't want to spend $600-$1000 for an iphone when i could refurbish one way cheaper for myself. But when i tried to set up the phone, I keep getting the activation lock screen where it tells me to sign in. I assumed the previous owner didn't reset it correctly so i called the previous owner multiple times so that I can maybe get some help with it but I have since gotten no reply. Is there anyway i can take off the activation lock myself or would i need to call Apple and explain my situation to them? I feel like if i did they would think I stole the phone and not give me any help.

The FBI can't even remove an activation lock. The phone is a worthless brick without the password. You need to start an eBay dispute and get your money back.

Just take it sornewheres that fixes phones and let thern fix it

Nothing you can do about it. You bought a useless brick. Did the listing specifically say that it was iCloud locked? If it did, then you're out of luck. If it said that it was in perfect and working condition, you can still return it since it wasn't as described. You're covered under eBay's Buyer Protection guarantee.

No there's no way of course & that is by design. If there was a way to break it then it wouldn't be very effective as a theft deterrent.

You likely may have been scammed especially since the previous "owner" is not responding to you post-sale. I'd look into contacting eBay about getting a refund As soon as possible.

Apple would not help in this situation. They may or may not think you stole the phone but that's besides the point here.

No, there's not. You got taken.

It's probably stolen. You got scammed.

No, you will need out to contact an expert
