Is there an app like this?
I was wondering if there was an app where you hum or sing a note and it tells you what note it is closest too ( B♭ or C# etc).
I have trouble recognising notes and pitches and stuff but I sometimes hum and makes songs that I think would be nice on piano so that's why I would like an app like this, so it's easier to make songs. (an app that recognises *Piano* notes, specifically)
Preferably for iPhone, or even computer/laptop. Paid or free I really don't care.
They are several apps - and notation programs - that will recognize audii input. However, each nite must be clear and separated - like singing doot. Doot. Doot. Sounds artificial when you do it, but at least the pitch gets there. And you must stick with the metronome setting they play, so that the rhythm also gets entered. These programs are not free - and take time to learn. There ARE free programs like Finale Notepad that allow you to click on the note with the mouse or computer keyboard.
There are several apps that allow you to do this. Most tuners on the App Store uses the microphone to recognize a musical pitch and not only tell you what note it is, but if it is out of tune.
If you have a piano or synthesizer and know the names of the keys you can test yourself by matching tones.
If you use a piano and hum the note to it, that would be easiest
