Is there any chance that HP will replace my laptop?

The laptop's screen was broken after this lovely klutz dropped it on a hard floor. So, my grandmother took it to a guy she knew to have it fixed. The screen has since been replaced and the laptop runs wonderfully, except for the fact that it won't connect to the wireless box.

I'm one hundred percent certain that the cause of the problem isn't the wireless box. My parents iPhones, my brother's iPod, and another one of my brother's laptops are able to connect.

Is there any chance that HP would replace or fix my laptop free of charge? (I sound miserly, I know)

It voids the warranty if you make repairs that are not a certified HP tech. To answer your question, no probably not.

It sounds like the drop damaged the Wi-Fi adapter on the laptop.
just take it to a computer repair shop and they can fix it…
since the computer was opened outside of the HP RMA shop (assuming that it is still in warrenty) the warrenty is now void and useless.
